Audra S. Zane

Audra S. Zane concentrates her practice on insurance coverage matters, representing insurance companies through all phases of litigation in both state and federal courts. She is skilled in defending insurers against claims of bad faith, breach of insurance contracts, and extra-contractual liability, and has served as supervisory counsel to carriers in cases involving catastrophic losses. Audra also regularly represents insurers in declaratory judgment actions and in matters involving regulatory claims and investigations.

In addition to her litigation practice, Audra provides pre-suit coverage evaluations designed to resolve disputes early and avoid litigation when possible. She has extensive experience with risk transfer strategies and works closely with defense counsel on indemnity agreements, additional insured provisions, and other mechanisms that allocate and manage risk. Audra also partners with clients to develop policy forms and endorsements that align coverage terms with underwriting objectives, helping carriers proactively manage risk and exposure.

She is counsel of record in several reported appellate-level decisions and is a frequent lecturer and contributor, publishing articles on insurance coverage and risk management topics that impact claims handling and carrier strategy.

Audra earned her J.D., cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School and is admitted to practice in New York and Florida, as well as in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
