Nicholas L. Paone

As a dedicated trial and litigation attorney in the insurance coverage and liability defense fields for over 25 years, Mr. Paone has formulated and executed strategic and tactical goals serving as lead counsel in numerous trials and many appeals, often involving cutting edge legal including insurance issues. Mr. Paone specializes in complex, high exposure, and high-profile cases, providing incisive counsel and guidance to a myriad of domestic as well as excess and surplus line insurers, always assuring satisfaction of their risk management and business objectives. In representing these insurers and their insureds, Mr. Paone achieves positive results in many types of liability and commercial cases of substantial value entailing a wide variety of areas of law throughout the pre-suit, litigation, trial, arbitration or mediation stages. These include first-party, third-party and excess insurance coverage disputes, coverage counseling, bad faith claims, insurance fraud investigation and litigation, construction defects, property damage, subrogation, product liability, toxic tort, professional liability (design professionals, insurance agents, claims professionals, and investment advisors), director and officer liability, medical malpractice, personal injury, civil rights, employment, lender liability, environmental and business tort claims. Mr. Paone has clerked for an appellate court judge in Pennsylvania and serves as a judge in regional ABA sponsored moot court competitions.

Mr. Paone received his Juris Doctorate from Villanova’s School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University. He is admitted and practices in the courts of the states of New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and in the federal courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, District of New Jersey, Eastern and Northern Districts of Pennsylvania, and Second and Third Circuit Courts of Appeals.
