Our General Liability and Environmental practice focuses upon the defense of private and municipal property owners, contractors, and other business owners against claims arising from slip and fall accidents, automobile and trucking accidents, construction and workplace accidents, products liability, and toxic exposures, including asbestos litigation. We also represent business owners in the defense of employment related claims, and claims arising out of their advertising activities.

Our Insurance Coverage practice is designed to provide our insurance company clients with a full array of services, including the analysis of coverage disputes, the defense of coverage litigation, and the development of effective claims handling techniques to minimize exposure on a long-term basis. The attorneys of FARBER BROCKS & ZANE bring to this practice group a high level of understanding of the intricacies involved in insurance coverage analysis based upon their experiences working as both in-house and outside counsel to a number of different insurance companies and third-party administrators. Our attorneys regularly prosecute and defend insurance coverage disputes on behalf of their insurance company clients in the State and Federal Courts, as well as before regulatory agencies such as the New York State Department of Insurance. They also assist insurance underwriters and organizations such as ISO and AAIS with the development of various forms and endorsements designed to minimize exposure to unintended risks.

Our Professional Liability practice focuses upon the representation and defense of architects, engineers, attorneys, and accountants. Our attorneys aggressively litigate and have successfully defended all types of professional liability claims, including those for legal and accounting malpractice, complex errors and omissions design claims, and bodily injury, property damage, and other construction related claims. Our attorneys also provide pre-claim assistance and counsel to their professional clients to avoid and mitigate potential claims. They also provide risk management counsel, and represent their design professional clients in the drafting, review and negotiation of design services contracts.

Our Municipal Practice is concentrated in the areas of defending municipalities and other government entities against tort, civil rights, and contract claims in both State and Federal courts. FARBER BROCKS & ZANE attorneys have defended towns and villages in civil rights suits alleging religious or ethnic discrimination, violation of free speech rights, retaliation for political activities, and other constitutional violations allegedly arising from enforcement of municipal codes and regulations, among other things. Calling on our extensive expertise in Insurance Coverage, we can also assist the municipal client in identifying sources of insurance that might provide coverage for the claim, and in vigorously pursuing those claims. In addition to representing governmental clients, our attorneys also have experience in representing private-sector businesses that are co-defendants in litigation challenging the award of municipal contracts.
